The meeting point is Cambuskenneth Abbey. The walk will last approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and is on level terrain throughout, but as the Abbey grounds can be muddy underfoot after rain and snow, stout shoes are recommended. Parking: if arriving by road via Causewayhead and the A 907 (Alloa Road), there is convenient parking at the Abbey or in adjacent streets. If arriving from or via Stirling, you may wish to park in Riverside beside the pedestrian bridge across the Forth a short distance from the Abbey. Toilet facilities are available in Cambuskenneth village hall beside the footbridge. Closest venue for pre- or post-walk coffee is Corrieri’s cafe at Causewayhead. Please let Maureen know if you plan to attend. maureenmitchell123@btinternet.com
Walk: Cambuskenneth Abbey
Monday 29 January - 10:30am
Following his well-attended SURSA presentation in November, local resident Campbell Chesterman has kindly agreed to lead this walk around the village, and has arranged access for us to the Abbey grounds, not normally open during the winter months.
