David Hume, The Great Infidel

Wednesday 7 February - 2:30pm
Tony Pitson will speak on David Hume in Cottrell A1.

Tony writes: "Hume is one of the great philosophers and a leading figure of the Scottish Enlightenment. He is also controversial, especially because of his treatment of religion which led to him being described as the ‘Great Infidel’. I want to explain the nature of Hume’s interest in religion and his position regarding the existence of God. I also hope to convey why Hume is so highly regarded both as a philosopher and as a human being."
