Garden Visit, Port of Menteith

Thursday 13 June - 2:30pm
Stephanie writes: Oakmore was open to the public under Scotland's Gardens Scheme on 5 May and I have spoken with some people who saw it then and recommended it to me. I confess that I have not seen it myself.

Until 2014 it was a 3.5 acre field and now it is a maturing garden with herbaceous borders, young orchards, a developing shrubbery, a rose garden, a bog garden and a variety of species trees. The garden is flat and is even wheelchair-friendly.  There is access to a toilet and parking for 20 cars. The cost of admission and cream tea is £8 per head.  We can pay in cash on the day.  The distance from Stirling is just over 13 miles and takes about 23 minutes on the A84 and A873.

I promised the owner, Mrs Rachel Nunn, that I would give her rough numbers before the end of May and final numbers at least one week before we go. Please email me at the address below if you would like to come along on 13 June.  I look forward to hearing from you.
