Meet outside St. Serf’s Church (Tron Square) in the centre of the village. There’s usually plenty of on-street parking or you may be able to park at the golf course - a minute or two away. It follows the burn upstream into the attractively wooded glen behind the village via a gently rising footpath. In an hour or so we reach a short, fairly steep, incline (aided by wooden steps and a bench!) after which we can admire views towards the mountains of the north before returning to Dunning by a slightly different route, eventually joining a quiet road leading back down to the village past a row of old weaving cottages.
Please note, walking beside the burn can be muddy after heavy rain.
Should you wish to linger there’s plenty to see in Dunning including the 9th century Dupplin Cross located inside St Serf’s church. http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/dunning/dunning/
Alternatively (or additionally) there are several eating places including the very hospitable Golf Course café which also provides public toilets.
