This is about a 4 mile walk on roads and paths. Meet at the starting point outside Hillhead Subway Station on Byres Rd at 10.30.
The walk goes down Byres Road to Dumbarton Road crossing the River Kelvin and then on to paths following the river between the Art Gallery and Glasgow University. We then cross over Kelvin Way to Kelvingrove Park following the Kelvin Walkway branching off for steps leading up to the Botanic Gardens where the walk ends.
There is also a possible detour to see the Bud Neil memorial statue of Lobey Dosser, El Fideldo and Rank Bajin on Woodlands Rd.
There are then options to walk round the gardens and hothouses, have lunch and/or walk back down Byres Rd to Hillhead subway station.
