Daffodils! Garden trip to Backhouse Rossie Estate near Ladybank in Fife

Friday 5 April - 9:45am
The Backhouse Family has a Quaker heritage and family members were bankers from 1774, botanists, naturalists and geologists. The estate has the national collection of narcissus together with many other spring flowers and shrubs.

There is a woodland walk, a walled garden and a scree and rock garden. Stephanie writes:

If I can interest about 30 people in this event I will book a coach to go from P C World Car Park in Springkerse, Stirling, to Fife and back.  The following is a timetable for the day:

0945     Coach will leave P C World Car Park and travel to Backhouse Rossie, a journey of about an hour.

1045     Arrival and coffee/tea

1100     Welcome talk in building beside Heritage Centre

1130     Free time to see the garden

12.30    Lunch of soup, sandwiches, cake, tea/coffee

After lunch more time in the garden

1545     Coach departs.  If the weather is bad we may leave earlier.

1645     Return to P C World Car Park

I can't give an exact price for the day until I find out how many people will share the cost of the coach but I hope it won't be more than £30 per head and this will include coach travel, entrance to the estate, morning coffee and lunch. Please let me know if you want to come along by e-mailing stephanietytler1@yahoo.co.uk as soon as possible and preferably before 25 February.  As soon as I have 30 names I can book a coach and I will write to those of you who have contacted me giving you the exact cost of the day and asking you to send a cheque to Isabel Piper.

I look forward to our first outing in 2019 and do hope you can come along.
