Walk: Loch Faskally

Getting there

There is a sign for 'Faskally' if heading north on the A9. If heading south; follow the turn-off for 'Pitlochry' then subsequent signs for ‘Faskally'. Parking is free and there are toilets.  

Using SatNav? PH16 5JZ is the nearest postcode but please follow the above instructions to find the specific turn off .

TERRAIN

Easy walking on lochside and riverside paths; some sections on minor road. Many steps. The first stage of the walk loops around the wooded banks of Loch Faskally crossing the loch via Clunie footbridge onto a minor road then heading up to the power station where we shall make use of the picnic tables for a break. The route continues past the falls of Tummel crossing the Tummel via Coronation foot bridge onto made footpaths. We follow the river Tummel and then the river Garry up to Garry Bridge crossing the river beyond Garybridge via a footbridge to head back down the river side to Faskally car park. The distance is 6.75 miles time about 4 hours.

Good walking shoes or boots recommended, take a packed lunch/snack.
