Walk: Around Callander

Thursday 20 September - 10:30am
This is an easy circular walk approximately 5 miles long and taking around 2 hours. Walking is mainly on well defined tracks with an optional short climb towards the end of the walk.

Please meet in the main car park in Callander next to the river (entrance opposite the Dreadnaught hotel). Parking costs £2.40 for 4 hours. The route takes us through Coilhallan Wood and over the Gartchonzie Bridge to pick up the Great Trossachs Path near Dunmore Fort.  At this point some may decide to make a short ascent to see Samson’s Stone (well worth it for the views alone) while others continue along the level track leading to the Bochastle car park where we pick up the Great Trossachs Path back through the meadows to Callander.

Walking boots and poles are advised, especially if choosing the route to the viewpoint.

Please email Mike (mikejsnell@gmail.com) if you would like to join this walk.
