Gargunnock Circular walk

Tuesday 30 April - 10:30am
We’ll head west down the Beech Walk, then turn left on a farm track which climbs steadily and quite steeply to a ridge which gives a commanding view of the Carse and the Trossachs. We will walk along the ridge, passing a former reservoir which is surrounded at this time of year by primroses, wild garlic and, a bit later, bluebells.

The walk takes about two hours and is 6.5km long. It’s simplest to park in Drummond Place, on the left at the top of Main Street. The walk starts at the far end of Drummond Place where we’ll meet.

After walking along the ridge we’ll drop down on a narrow path beside the Leckie Burn, past the remains of a broch, then walk on a track through farmland past a ruined water mill, Leckie Castle and Watson House, coming back along the Beech Walk. The narrow path can be muddy.

My house is in a little street called Loftbrae Park which is opposite Drummond Place - it’s at the end of the left-hand fork. If you’d like coffee/tea and/or the use of a loo come to my house at 10am:
