Walk at Whiehill and Coxburn Reservoir, Bridge of Allan

Tuesday 27 November - 10:30am
This short but varied ramble takes in the wooded mid-slopes of Whitehill and the more open terrain around the reservoir which, weather permitting, offers good views of Dumyat and the Perthshire hills. The Whitehill trail can be muddy in places, and boots are recommended, but the greater part of the walk is on fully surfaced tracks created as part of the post-pylons landscaping work and the going is generally easy. Total ascent is minimal (200 ft).

2.5 miles. I.5 – 2 hrs. Start and end-point: Pendreich Forestry Commission car park, Sheriffmuir Road, meeting at 10.30 a.m.

Directions: If travelling from Stirling, follow the A9 towards Bridge of Allan, take the first right turn immediately after the University (signposted Sheriffmuir and Beaconhurst School) and follow the Sheriffmuir signs until you reach the car park on the LH side of the single-track road. If coming from Dunblane through Bridge of Allan, turn left immediately before the University, and follow the Sheriffmuir direction signs to the car park.

There are public toilets and refreshment/catering places in BOFA.

Please let Bill Kidd know if you intend to come on the walk
