Ben Ledi

Thursday 21 June - 10:00am
Our next walk is to Ben Ledi, a change of plan. There have been many changes made to the path up Ben Ledi in the past year. Deforestation has resulted in good views from the lower slopes upwards. The path has been greatly improved, cutting out boggy areas. Due to the improvements, it has been decided that we will ascend from the main car park and descend by the same route. This should take 4 - 5 hours walking.

We will meet at the car park at 10am. From Callander, take the A84 north. About a mile (2km) beyond Kilmahog, turn left at the sign for ‘Strathyre Forest Cabins’. Cross the bridge and you’ll see the small car park on your left.  The car park gets very busy and so car sharing is a good idea. The car park is at grid reference NN 587 091.   https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/lochlomond/ben-ledi.shtml

Toilets are available in Callander at the main car park on the right hand side going north or at Strathyre.

Please bring a packed lunch and some snacks as well as plenty of water. Hopefully you will need sunscreen and hopefully not insect repellent for the midges, but bring it anyway.

Max and Fiona have kindly trialled this walk.  They recommend the Broch cafe at Strathyre for coffee and cakes.  Please let Max know if you intend to come - max.penfold@gmail.com
