SURSA CHRISTMAS WALK - Loch Leven Heritage Trail

Friday 15 December - 10:30am
We last did this walk on a lovely day back in 2012. Let’s hope for another good day! Meet at Kirkgate car park in Kinross ready for a 10.30 start from Kirkgate Point which is at the end of the car park.

Information about the trail can be found at http://www.lochlevenheritagetrail.co.uk/walks.html We will walk on to Mary’s Gate, Burleigh Sands and then turn up at Pow Burn on the link road to Loch Leven Larder where we have lunch and then return by the same path, but with completely different views, to the Kirkgate car park.  This is covered by walks 1 – 3 on the website above.  Maps can be printed off as pdf files. Although the total distance is around 7 miles, the route is excellent on a flat, well-surfaced path and there will be a lunch break in the middle.  In fact the path is so good that walking shoes or trainers would be sufficient. There are toilets, cost 20p, at the Kirkgate car park and at Loch Leven Larder where there is also a food and gift shop. Dogs are welcome but have to be on a lead in certain areas.  They cannot come indoors at Loch Leven Larder but there is an area with drinking bowls where they can be tied up directly outside the café. Those interested in birds should bring binoculars.

Please let Lottie know if you are intending to come along as Loch Leven Larder is always busy and she has provisionally booked for the group but has promised to confirm numbers nearer the time.  Also please contact her if you have any queries about any aspect of this walk.
